Goal
The goal of this study is to find out what children, parents and professionals think about tissue research in childhood cancer. This will help us learn better how, within the law, we should handle these tissues.
Background
Increasingly more laboratory research is being done with tissues from children with cancer. At the same time, little is known about how children, parents and professionals feel about it. Important questions are: “What should and should we not do with tissues?” and “How do we involve families?”.
To properly conduct research with tissues, it is important to know how adolescents, parents and professionals think about this. We want to make sure that the information and education for families about tissue research fits well with their needs and ideas.
In this study we will interview adolescents, parents and professionals about tissue research. During the interview we will explain how research with tissue works at the Máxima Center and ask for their ideas and opinions about it.
