Science evening: Supportive care

Event date: 12-02-2025
The treatment for children with cancer focuses on improving survival rates as well as the quality of life of the child. That’s why the Máxima Center offers a wide range of supportive care, aimed at preventing, treating, or reducing side effects.

Researchers at the Máxima conduct studies to continually improve supportive care, from reducing nausea to preventing and treating infections. This also includes encouraging physical activity and promoting healthy eating.

Three experts will share insights from their scientific research on supportive care. How can nutrition contribute to the condition and treatment of a child with cancer? How do you manage infections in children whose immune systems are weakened by cancer treatment? And how can nausea and vomiting—some of the most common side effects of chemotherapy—be reduced?

During this science evening, there will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion.

You are warmly invited to attend this evening, either in person or online. Registration is possible via the event website.

This evening will be held in Dutch. It is primarily intended for parents, children, survivors, and the general public.
