Patient portal

We use the UMC Utrecht patient portal to give parents and children access to their medical record. In the record, you can find test results and medical letters.

How do I log in to the patient portal?

At the top of this page, you will find an orange box with the button ‘Log in with DigiD’. This gives you easy access to your patient portal. As a young person (from 12 years old), you can log in to your record with your DigiD, using an SMS code or the DigiD app. If you do not yet have a DigiD, you can apply for one at www.digid.nl.

Do you want to log in as a parent or legal representative? Go to the page Logging in as an representative.

Results displayed immediately

As soon as there is a result, you can see it in the portal. It does not say what the result means. Sometimes it is still a preliminary result that will be adjusted after the treatment team has discussed it. The medical letters that doctors send each other can also be found in the patient portal. Your doctor will explain what the results mean to you at your next appointment.

Are you concerned about a result you have seen in the portal? Then contact your doctor or nursing specialist.

Appointments via patient planning

All appointments and admissions are arranged by our our patient planning office. The planner will call, email, or send a letter once an appointment is confirmed. You can also find all appointments in your patient portal. Because appointments may still change, an appointment is only final once a confirmation letter has been sent. This letter will be available in your email or in the patient portal. If you have any questions about an appointment, please contact patient planning at +31 88 972 7650.

Permission for electronic data exchange

To provide the best possible care, it is sometimes necessary to exchange your information electronically with another healthcare provider, such as your general practitioner or another hospital. This is why we ask you and/or your parents for permission.

If you and/or your parents give permission, only the health information from the Máxima Center that is needed for treatment will be shared with the other healthcare provider.

You can give permission in the following ways:

  • Through the patient portal

  • At the reception desk with a medical assistant
