Neuro-imaging
MRI is the main imaging modality used for diagnosis of brain tumor and for treatment evaluation and follow-up. Besides high quality anatomical images, MRI provides a wide range of image contrasts reflecting tissue physiology and metabolism. The neuro-onco-imaging group translates novel imaging methodologies and image analysis techniques into clinical research and validates imaging biomarkers in the pediatric population with the goal of enabling better imaging based treatment evaluation and prediction.
3D technology of pediatric brain tumors
Preoperative and intraoperative imaging play a key role in planning safe and effective tumor resections in neurosurgery. Because surgical planning time is often limited, fast and reliable methods are needed to make the most of imaging data. Technologies like automatic segmentation and augmented reality (AR) support quicker analysis and clearer understanding of tumors and their surroundings. We are developing and testing these tools to bring them into everyday clinical use.
