Echo navigation as a surgical tool in difficult to operate tumors

With my PhD project, I am working with pediatric surgeons and orthopedists to introduce echo navigation for pediatric oncology surgery. By applying navigation techniques - similar to online navigation tools - to hard-to-operate tumors, we help the surgeon find the tumor. Here we use 3D models, which we link to the position during surgery through the application of ultrasound. With the advent of this technique, we hope to be able to find tumors better in the future and then also remove them better, with minimal complications.
