Characterization of Hook1 function in cellular protein quality control
Phone 31 6 28 14 75 90

Misfolding and aggregation of proteins in neuronal cells is one of the main processes behind neuronal aging and neuronal pathologies like Alzheimers disease. Recent studies suggest an important role for the transport protein Hook1 in managing these misfolded proteins. This project aims to clarify the role of Hook1 in these cells, and make a connection between Hook1 function and the benefits of dietary restriction.
