Mutational processes in pediatric cancer

During my PhD project I focus on why children develop cancer. I study the mutation accumulation in stem cells of children with an increased risk of developing cancer to identify the mechanisms that underlie childhood cancer development. In addition, I study the mutational consequences of deficient DNA repair processes to discover risk factors and improve treatment.
