3D model mimicking the leukemic microenvironment

Dr. Lu Yuan studied Biomedical Engineering at Sichuan University in China. Following her graduation in 2013, she started her master study at National Engineering Research Center for Biomaterials (Sichuan, China). From 2016 to 2020, she conducted her PhD research at the Biomedical Engineering Department in UMC Groningen under the supervision of Prof. van der Mei and Prof. Busscher and Dr. Peterson. Since March 1st of 2021, she is a postdoc researcher in the Den Boer group to develop an in vitro 3D model mimicking the leukemic microenvironment in the bone marrow of patients in order to study chemo- and immunotherapy resistance/escape mechanisms.
