The goal during my internship in the Janda group of the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht is to optimize the growth conditions to successfully grow tumoroids from OS tumors in children and dogs. In addition, I will conduct research to determine the toxic effects of dexamethasone, a chemotherapeutic agent that is commonly used for the treatment of children with leukemia, bone tumors and other cancers, on developing bones using human bone samples from childhood cancer survivors and skeletal young mice treated with dexamethasone.
