Meiosis-specific DNA repair and genome instability in cancer


Genetic stability enables cellular proliferation and survival, while its disturbance is detrimental and a hallmark of cancer. To maintain genetic stability, adequate chromosome segregation and DNA repair are essential. My research is focused on the protein TRIP13, which plays a key role in both these processes. By uncovering molecular mechanisms, performing genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 screens, and executing cell biological assays, I aim to gain insight into how TRIP13 regulates fundamental genome maintenance pathways.
