Long-term consequences of an HSCT at the pediatric age

My passion for research in pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) began during my work as a clinician in the pediatric HSCT department. Drawing from my clinical experience, I am driven to contribute to the improvement of care for children undergoing an HSCT through my work as a researcher. My research focuses on the long-term consequences of an HSCT at the pediatric age, with a particular emphasis on long-term chimerism and inflammation. Given the unique health challenges these children face, I am motivated to gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms influencing their recovery and the long-term effects of this life-saving treatment.
