Dr. Simone Punt is a highly motivated and responsible tumor immunologist (PhD, SMBWO certified). After her Biomedical Sciences training at the Leiden University, she received her PhD by studying the role of Th17 cells in cervical cancer (LUMC, The Netherlands). She subsequently performed a postdoctoral study on resistance mechanisms to immunotherapy in melanoma (MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, United States). In addition to her research, she has (co-)led several organizations including a PhD day, NatureJobs Texas Life Sciences Career Event and the Houston Postdoctoral Alliance.
Simone has been a part of the Den Boer group since September 2020, where she manages the setup and integration of an international Leukemia/Lymphoma Target Board for pediatric patients with leukemia or lymphoma in Europe (Princess Máxima Center, The Netherlands).
