Scientific research is essential in achieving our goal to cure all children with cancer with an optimal quality of life. Therefore our researchers focus on a broad spectrum of pediatric oncological topics.
Since the start of the Princess Máxima Center, KiKa (Foundation children cancer-free) provides core funding, which gives each principal investigator a stable foundation.
From 2017 to 2019, the Ministry of Health (VWS) has contributed to our funding by means of a project subsidy. From 2020 onwards this temporary contribution will be transformed into a structural subsidy for the infrastructure of research (BBAZ).
In addition to the core funding from KiKa and the contribution of the government, our research groups have proven to be successful in obtaining external subsidies.
