Carla Rios Arceo

PhD student
Epigenetically driven brain tumors

I’m Carla and I am a PhD student in the Drost lab since January 2023. My projects focus on the study of epigenetically driven pediatric brain tumors, mainly high-grade gliomas. Our aim is to study the role of epigenetic remodeling in tumorigenesis using patient-derived tumor organoid models in combination with gene-editing techniques. By investigating the epigenetic mechanisms that underpin cancer development, we hope to identify potential new therapeutic avenues.
