With my PhD project, we are working to improve surgery in children with neuroblastoma. We do this by making 3D models of the neuroblastoma and surrounding organs before surgery. These models include imaging information that we use to predict where the aggressive part of the tumor is located. In addition, we are investigating the possibility of targeted fluorescence-guided surgery in neuroblastoma operations in a clinical trial. With these techniques, we hope to remove the tumor as effectively as possible with as few complications as possible.
