Despite advances in survivorship for children with cancer, outcome for high-risk, relapsed, or refractory malignancies remains poor. The Princess Máxima Center individualized THERapy (iTHER) program, funded by ZonMW, is a national precision oncology program which aims to benefit children with hard-to-treat tumors by implementing comprehensive molecular profiling into standard-of-care diagnostics and clinical care.
In addition, high-throughput drug sensitivity testing on patient derived material and tumoroids is integrated to identify additional treatment options and confirm in vitro efficacy of targeting molecular actionable events.
