Children with brain tumors have the highest risk of developing neuropsychological problems and reduced quality of life. With the Brain CARE (Clinical And Research Evaluation) program, the development of children with a brain tumor will be consistently monitored using neuropsychological assessments. These assessments are also part of research studies and clinical trials in which patients participate. In this way, care and research is integrated. The goal with the Brain CARE program is to provide maximum customized care, anticipate future problems and answer research questions.
As coordinator of the Brain CARE program, I assist with the implementation of this new and unique care & research program. I provide organizational oversight for the various aspects of the program, keep an overview of all patients, am a point of contact to various teams within the Princess Máxima Center, and provide administrative support where needed.
