Novel CAR T cell strategies for paediatric solid tumors

Ronja is working on innovative CAR T cell therapies targeting paediatric solid tumors as part of the CRUK Cancer Grand Challenges PROTECT consortium. Her research focuses on improving the longevity and therapeutic window of CAR T cells by designing ON/OFF switch mechanisms regulated through molecular glues and PROTACs, which allow for controlled degradation or activation. Additionally, she is exploring combination therapies and engineering enhanced CAR T cells equipped to maintain functionality in the immunosuppressive microenvironment of neuroblastoma.
