CALL: Villa Joep neuroblastoma research fellowship grant

Villa Joep is a Dutch charity research fund supporting neuroblastoma research. The aim is to improve the likelihood of survival and, ultimately, to be able to cure every child with neuroblastoma. Everyone working for Villa Joep does so on a voluntary basis, which means that all funds raised are directed towards supporting excellent research.

To further the mission, Villa Joep collaborates with the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This collaboration entails a sponsored two-year fellowship at the Princess Máxima Center. This center for pediatric oncology is special as all children in the Netherlands diagnosed with cancer are treated there, plus it houses several research groups and first-rate research facilities. Villa Joep is currently recruiting candidates for a neuroblastoma research fellowship at the Princess Máxima Center.

Villa Joep is looking for a young, talented researcher – from outside the Netherlands – with a PhD and/or MD degree who wishes to pursue a career in neuroblastoma research in one of the research groups at the Princess Máxima Center. Villa Joep offers the opportunity to develop and implement a research project. The proposed research can be pre-clinical, clinical, or technology-driven research as long as it is aimed at neuroblastoma. Villa Joep will sponsor the fellowship with a grant of 200.000 Euro, which includes a salary and bench fee covering two years of employment.

Your application needs to include: (1) a personal motivation; (2) a brief description of your project; (3) your CV and background; (4) a description of what knowledge, skills, or expertise you will add to the Princess Máxima Center; (5) an explanation of how you expect the project can be embedded in a research group of the Princess Máxima Center; (6) a provisional project plan, including expected milestones and a budget.

Email your application before 1 June 2019 to onderzoek@villajoep.nl. For any queries regarding the application for the Villa Joep fellowship contact the Villa Joep Research Team: onderzoek@villajoep.nl.
